Each
program at Manistee Catholic Central Schools, Pre-school
thru 12th grade, has special activities and community
service projects specific to their classes.
Many
of the younger children visit off-campus facilities to
enhance lessons being taught within the classroom. Students
in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades visit camps and
special workshops devoted to the enhancement of their
studies.
Junior High students travel semi-annually
to a Washington Workshop Seminar in Washington D.C. The
commitment for the Washington Workshop is made by the
students in the sixth grade. Money is raised for
their trip over a two year period. Students are
also expected to raise their own spending money to use
while they attend the seminar.
Various volunteer
teacher mentors visit the Senior High students, on-campus
throughout the school year. Students in the Junior
Class are mentored in economics with “two” being
selected to attend a prestigious workshop held by the “Foundation
for Teaching Economics” cost free.
Numerous
spiritual retreats are held both on and off campus by
MCC school Chaplain Father John McCracken. |
